Peer Mentor Program Application

Chicago Scholars is recruiting sophomores, juniors and seniors to be peer mentors for Scholars in their first year of college!

Peer mentors will either have mentees that go to the same school, different schools in the same region OR mentees with the same major as them.

What does a peer mentor do?

  • Support between 1-4 first-year college Scholars for the 2023-24 school year
  • Meet with mentees once per month (in person or virtually/over the phone) and check in via text or email twice per month
  • Provide your mentees with advice, support, and connections to campus resources
  • Complete quarterly evaluations to let us know how your meetings with mentees are going

What's in it for you?

  • Access to funds to spend on outings with your mentee(s) or care packages for them!
  • The chance to build community and make a difference in fellow Scholars' lives!
  • A small stipend for peer mentors who complete their requirements for the year.

What are the qualifications?

  • Enrolled at their college/university for the entire academic year (sorry we can't accept anyone studying abroad or graduating after the fall term).
  • Be in good academic standing... 2.5 GPA and up preferred
  • Be able to commit to supporting a group of mentees for the entire school year
